Yarn-dyed fabrics are exactly what they sound like. Yarns are dyed into specific colors before being woven into a design. So the design is literally part of the fabric, this takes additional time, planning, and engineering to achieve a particular design. Yarn-dyed fabrics usually have more than one color such as ginghams, blocks, plaids, stripes, etc. while piece-dyed ones are primarily one solid color.

The different materials can be divided into the yarn-dyed cotton fabric, yarn-dyed polyester cotton fabric, yarn-dyed fancy cotton fabric, yarn-dyed slub fabric, yarn-dyed spandex fabric, etc., and there are many yarn-dyed fabrics with silk, and/or bast fibers (linen, ramie, hemp) as raw materials

Yarn-dyed fabric features:
Basically, the yarn-dyed fabric has two or more colors, for the same composition (such as cotton and polyester), yarn-dyed fabrics have a more fresh and clear surface. The fastness is better than dyed cloth.
How to distinguish the yarn-dyed and piece-dyed?
Yarn-dyed fabrics with patterns are easy to distinguish, but it is often confused by the plain color. If it is a plain color, it depends on the quality and color-fastness of the cloth surface. Generally, the quality of the yarn-dyed fabric is better than piece-dyed fabric.
If it is not confirmed yet, draw out a thread, if the inside and outside are the same color, it is yarn-dyed. However, if there is a layer of color on the outer surface, it is dyed fabric.
