Pongee Fabric is a smooth, medium weight fabric, usually have weaving texture styles of plain, oblique, stripe, satin, jacquard, etc., the most common varieties are semi-elastic pongee, full elastic pongee, and dull pongee, etc.

“Semi elastic pongee” has been used to make the lining of suits, jackets, children's wear, and professional wear. Now with the development of domestic exhibitions and the advertising industry, the demand for flags is increasing day by day. Semi elastic pongee has become a major sales highlight in China's market. This fabric is made of polyester FDY 60D / 24F as the warp material, DTY 100D / 36F as the weft, 386 * 280 pieces / 10cm as the warp and weft density, commonly known as 170T. The plain texture pongee is weaved on the water jet loom, and the grey fabric is processed by softening, decrement, dyeing, finalization and other processes. The fabric surface is characterized by silk luster, soft and smooth, not easy to crack and tear, not easy to fade, its colorful bright glossy especially suitable to making all kinds of colorful flags.
The finished cloth is 150cm in width and 100GSM. The cost of grey fabric is about USD0.3 / meter. In recent years, more than ten kinds of bright colors such as green, yellow, pink, red, etc. are more popular. "Full elastic pongee" has wide variety specifications, including 240T to 300T, which are the most favored in the market. The fabric is woven with polyester DTY75D / 72F in warp and weft, and woven with twill (1 / 2 twill or 1 / 3 twill) texture. After dyeing and finishing with treatment, for example, coating PVC, PU, imitated pile coating, embroidery with other fabrics, powder point compounding, sanding, etc., makes the application of full elastic pongee more extensive.
The finished fabric has 148cm width, the current market price of grey fabric 240T is about USD0.45/m, 300T is about USD0.65/m, the dyeing and processing fee in Shengze area is generally about USD0.3/m, and the shrinkage of dyeing is 8-10%. The fabric has a wide range of uses, which can be used for making down jacket, casual jacket, children's clothing, waterproof coating fabric usually to be made of waterproof clothing, umbrella canopy, sunshade, etc.

"Matt pongee" belongs to the family of all elastic pongee series. The warp and weft fiber are all dull polyester DTY75D / 72F or 50D / 72F. Among them, a fabric with the specification of 300T is woven with the double plain texture, make great changes in the appearance of the cloth, especially make the fabric with more soft color after using them matt polyester fiber.

The difference between polyester taffeta and polyester pongee
Polyester taffeta and pongee are both polyester fabric. But polyester taffeta is usually for lining; Pongee can be used for surface;
polyester taffeta feels harder than pongee.
Polyester pongee is made of FDY (full filament no elastic)fiber, at least one of pongee warp and weft is made of DTY (low elastic)fiber.
