Organza fabric is a lightweight, plain weave fabric with a crisp hand. It has a stiff and wiry finish because it is made with highly twisted filament yarns, has an outstanding drape, and is often used by tailors to create dresses and skirts with volume. Organza is also a very strong fabric, so do not be tricked by its sheer look.
Organza is traditionally made from silk. Its cotton variety is called organdy, and it has similar properties to organza. Nowadays, you can find all kinds of organza fabric, both natural and synthetic. An everybody’s favorite for evening and wedding gowns, this stiff material has a subtle sheen.

Organza fabric usually has the following features:

It’s mainly used for curtains, curtain lining, home textiles, bridal dresses, toys, decoration, upholstery, drapery, etc.
Organza fabrics are a little stiffer, wrinkle easily, and do not flow well, so it is often used in very structured dresses that are not intended to flow.
Sometimes it’s difficult to make clear the organza, chiffon, and voile fabric (Here they are all made of synthetic polyester or nylon). They are all thin, lightweight, plain weaving, and sheer fabrics. The main difference between them:
organza fabric is usually made of a single fake-twisted fiber, has a stiff hand, and silk glossy;
Chiffon fabric is usually made of S- and Z-twist crepe (high-twist) yarns, this lends the fabric both some stretch and a slightly rougher / crepe feel, this is it obviously features;
Voile fabric is also made of twisted yarn, so it’s usually a little more weight and dim than organza.
